Great post. I just posted on this same topic. We have to stay on our toes all the time. Technology is constantly changing. I predict that google will come out with something like the ipad that is a huge monster. I’ve been surprised at how many people are buying the ipad. I too am getting 5 percent of my traffic from mobile users. All bloggers need to get on this ASAP.
With their contribution to the smart phone market. it would not surprise me for Google to contribute to the development of an internet tablet type of device… Probably in much the same way, with the technology, and license it to others to produce.
I hadn’t checked my stats recently and was surprised when a client told me he was getting 13% of his traffic from mobile devices, so I reset my stats and rechecked them today. I was pleasantly surprised to see the 10% at a couple of sites. When I first installed the plugin 5 weeks or so ago, I was getting 2% to 3%, which was reason enough to install it on all of my sites… But now with 5% and up, I’m really glad I did.
Yup, been telling people this for months – this during the same past year that we’ve seen an absolute explosion in mobile marketing courses from Dan Hollings, Gauher Chaudhry, etc.
I’ve got a fantastic idea for a site that, done in WordPress, would probably require piecing together various components, but few if any of the all-in-one html scripts that COULD handle it are mobile-optimized, which really chaps my hide. They just don’t seem to get where the world is going.
I actually value your own comments. Despite the fact that I might not agree with every thing you point out, it truly is good to see someone expressing their mind with the bare minimum of fuss.
Replying to comments many times adds much more to the information contained in the article. The comments many times will bring something to light that I left out of the original post and make the article even more informative… Plus, I like interacting with my readers.
